Topic: linux stupid web browser tricks
02:33am EDT, 24 Jun 2007

Stupid.... yet so cool.

What you're looking at in the above picture is Lynx running in an AjaxTerm session under Firefox.... a browser within a browser. Not the first time such a thing has been possible, and not even the first Javascript/Ajax terminal emulator (I think that would be Anyterm, but now if I want to, I can run most shell programs in a browser window without needing Java or Flash or anything else but a reasonably current browser. IRC clients, wget (for "sideloading" to shell accounts), ssh, even just basic system maintenance when all I have is port 80 (though in this test it was port 8022.)

So anyway, yeah, that's cool.
